I want to share my home made okro soup made with seafood.
Am from the southern part of Nigeria. And this implies that we enjoy varieties of seafoods high in nutrients.
Most of the seafoods can be cooked without beef.
So i will share with you how this particular dish is prepared beginning with the ingredients and then the procedures for achieving a yummy delicious meal.
Ingredients
• Okro
• Prawns
• Onions
• Scumbia Fish
• Knorr cubes
• uzziza leaf
• Salt
• Palm Oil
Procedures
• Carefully pick the prawns remove the head, wash and steam in a pot. For 3 mins with a little water.
For the steaming add salt and onions.
• Wash your okro, slice and set aside.
• Wash your uzziza leaf, slice and set aside.
• peel your onions, slice and set aside.
• Blend your fresh peppers.
• Next you remove all the gills and intestines from the Scumbia fish. Wash thoroughly and steam.
For the steaming add your grinded pepper, this could be a fresh or dried pepper its totally your choice but i prefer a fresh one. Add salt, maggi and onions, steam for 2 mins.
You do not need to steam and turn off the gas once it is 3mins top up the water and taste if the ingredients needs a little more additional.
Cook for 10mins because its fish you do not have to cook for a long time.
While on fire, add your palm oil and next your grated okro. Cover to boil before adding your uzizza leaf.
Give it a quick and careful stir and your okro soup is ready.
• This can be served with any swallow of your choice.
