RE: ⚽ NEW GAME: Fantasy 4-2-3-1

I've had a look and he was the only person who picked their team following the lineups.

If he hadn't made this mistake, he would have selected one of the other starting Left Wingers (Kaoru Mitoma (BRI), Alex Iwobi (FUL), Jack Clarke (IPS), Jaden Philogene-Bidace (IPS), Luis Díaz (LIV), Kamaldeen Sulemana (SOU)).

I think that a fair rule, which I'll state explicitly for future rounds, is that an out of position player is replaced by the lowest scoring player who started in that position.

In this case, that would have been Kaoru Mitoma (BRI) who scored 2 points.

This feels fair to me. It also means that this week's mistake isn't punished as Emile Smith-Rowe also scored 2 points.

Certainly it should be penalized, in traditional fantasy they don't even allow you to field someone out of their natural position.

It seems to me a soft but fair penalty, maybe to not demotivate him? because you saved him the work of looking up the exact positions in a very easy to understand table, he shouldn't have committed it.

No, and currently there's no system in place to stop it. Since the team was updated at the last minute, I couldn't correct it sooner!

A bit of both. It's the first week so I'm still learning too. I had thought about a rule (50% of their points for somebody playing out of position) but I didn't include it. This rule feels fairer and knowing that he would've selected somebody else (if he'd got it correct), he'd have been unlucky to get just 2 points (everybody else scored higher).

There's a rule in place now so that it can't happen again!
