I wasn't born in Germany or in the 90s, but I grew up in a country where we drink "tea" with bread in the morning.

The tea in question is a beverage made up of milk and sometimes cocoa. It's seen as a luxurious meal. Something for the privileged few, and you'd be teased if you choose to swallow foofoo with soup in the morning instead of taking a light cup of tea.

While reading this, I remembered my first reaction when I discovered that there are no milk in our market. With the White Fulani cattle which produces less milk and limited infrastructures to keep the little available milk fresh, all we have access to are cheap laboratory produced fat-filled milk powder (FFMP) where milk fat is replaced with vegetable oil. Scientists say it's detrimental to health.

I must say you were lucky to have access to quality milk. I'd read books like Five Go Camping and ask myself if I know the taste or texture of what real milk looks or feels like.
