From 30 HBD to $200: How Hive Changed My Life in Difficult Times
Hello dear STEEM and HIVE friends 🌿
Today, I want to share a real story from my life about earning on Hive during one of the most difficult periods in Afghanistan.
Life During Uncertainty
There was a time when Afghanistan was facing extremely difficult political and economic conditions. After the collapse of the government, everything became uncertain. Jobs disappeared, markets were unstable, and many families were struggling to survive.
I was one of those people.
Discovering Hive
During that time, a friend introduced me to Hive.blog. He explained that it was a decentralized platform where people could write, engage, trade tokens, and earn rewards.
I decided to try.
My friend lent me 30 HBD to get started. From that amount:
I powered up 2 HBD into Hive Power
I used the remaining balance to buy HIVE based on local market prices
Trading Between Markets
At that time, HIVE’s price was increasing day by day. I noticed price differences between the internal HIVE market and Beeswap.
So I started trading:
Sometimes I converted HBD to HIVE
Then I converted HIVE back to HBD
Other times, I did the reverse
I carefully used price fluctuations to make small profits.
HIVE continued rising and eventually reached its historical peak. Later, the price dropped, but I continued trading cautiously.
The Result
After consistent effort, I managed to grow my balance to around 200 HBD.
I repaid my friend’s 30 HBD loan.
And for the first time in a long while, I had about $200 of my own money.
Why $200 Meant So Much
Maybe for some people, $200 is not a big amount.
But for me — in a country facing economic collapse and uncertainty — it was everything.
That money was not just money.
It was:
Hope
Confidence
Independence
Proof that I could still build something
What Hive Taught Me
This experience taught me three important lessons:
Knowledge is power.
Patience brings results.
Opportunities exist even in crisis.
Everything started with just 30 HBD.
And it changed my mindset forever.
