Moving to Hive
Very exciting times ahead!
There are a lot of posts going around with information and views on the move to Hive, so I will try not to add too much additional noise. I just wanted to write a brief post to let everybody know that I am fully in support of the transition to hive, and will be running my witness on the new chain.

I will have a lot more thoughts to share as things develop and we start to get situated our new home. See you all on the other side =)
Will it be necessary to vote the witnesses on Hive or the actual list will be copied?
Everything including witness votes will copy over, although you will be able to update witness votes on each chain independently after the fork.
Given the current demand of steem to get equivalent amount of hive token, what would be your thoughts on price of hive ? Will it be almost equal to the price of steem just before the fork ? The way price of steem is rising, it will not be surprising to see it at 1$ before the fork !!
And do we have some exchanges that would list hive immediately after the fork ? How long it takes hive to be listed ?
No idea in terms of price. I've never been very good at price speculation.
A lot of community members are in talks with various exchanges. There is a lot of interest, but too soon to tell right now exactly which exchanges will be listing / when.

What if Justin buys up all the HIVE coins and takes over that chain as well and says "All your base are belong to us?"

A single malicious actor buying up enough tokens to take control of the chain is always a risk for DPoS. The more tokens one actor tries to buy though, the more expensive it will get. This would likely be a very expensive attack to make.
If I have the kind of cheese Sun's has I will attempt to buy up enough hive and mount up stock puppet as witness

Why would you consider them malicious and why would that be considered an attack? Maybe they just wanted to buy up the coins and promote the project.
They already demonstrated on the Steem chain that they were.
Was this after the Witnesses tried to cut Justin off from the multi million dollar investment he just made or before?
I was the one top witness who voted against that (and lost my position because of it). Not sure why you are picking this argument with me.. What point are you trying to make?

Tim, thank you for being as objective and yet as supportive of the community as you can. You're one of the people who didn't support the initial softfork and you have my respect.
I'm glad Hive is happening and I am looking forward to it.
Never a dull moment for Steemians/Hivers. It's been a wild few years and now I hope we can get on with building a blockchain that can change the world. See you on the other side.

Is there a list of what witnesses are doing? Who’s fully moving to hive only? Who’s sticking to both chains? Who’s staying on steem?
Not compiled anywhere that I know of. The vast majority (if not all) that are active in the top 50 are moving as far as I know. To be 100% sure, you would have to check each individual witness to see if they have posted anything.
Will the witnesses just stop producing blocks on this block-chain when we transition?
Or will some be double mined about it?
I expect that the suns will get the majority, will change the rules to 1 day power down, and will kill fast the old-steem blockchain. It's really great to have a fresh start, with all the lessons learned!
Yea I was thinking that for maximum leverage it would be good if the existing witnesses maintain the existing balance of power.

The same kinda thing happened when all the mainstream-media started suddenly reporting about bitcoin breaking the $10,000.00 mark for the first time, THE NEWS ITSELF drew in hoards of newbz which drove the value over $19,000.00 before they all got spooked out.
Then THE PRESS declared that "the crash" (which they caused) "proved" that bitcoin is a "scam" (even though the price settled at about $7,000.00, which is about SEVEN TIMES what it was a few months prior.
It will be up to individual witnesses to decide that.
