Before starting work, choose a mason with experience in aluminum fabrication. Discuss the material quality (e.g., Hindalco, Jindal, etc.), the section thickness (Gauge), and the type of glass (plain, toughened, or tinted) with the mason at the outset. When negotiating rates, clarify whether the labor charge will be based on square feet or whether the entire job will be a lump sum contract.

The most important factor in aluminum work is "perfect sizing." Even the slightest mistake in measuring a window or door can result in a crooked frame. Ensure the mason takes final measurements only after the wall has been plastered and plastered, to avoid gaps when fixing the frame.

While the mason is working on site, monitor the mason's finishing.

Joints: The corners of aluminum sections should be cut and joined properly at 45 degrees.
Screws and rubber: Ask the repairman to use only rust-free (stainless steel) screws. It's important to use good-quality rubber beading or silicone sealant to fix the glass to prevent rainwater from seeping in.

Aluminum comes in long sections. A good repairman is one who cuts in a way that minimizes material wastage. If you're purchasing the material yourself, ask for a full estimate beforehand to avoid overspending. Aluminum work isn't a frequent process. Therefore, while trusting the repairman, be vigilant yourself. Upon completion, check all locks, handles, and sliding doors by operating them yourself and only pay the repairman in full once you're satisfied. With proper supervision, your home will not only look beautiful but will also remain strong for years to come.

I love how you've emphasized the importance of choosing a skilled mason for aluminum fabrication - it makes all the difference in the quality of the end result. I'm curious, what type of aluminum framing have you found to be most durable in Indian climates? 🏠💡📸
