Turning Trash into Treasure

Big shout out to my husband for creating these strainer lids for my herbal infusions!

We had a broken and useless mesh strainer and finally decided to cut it up to convert these mason jar lids. One large strainer made 3 wide mouth lids and 1 little lid.

I can also use these for my sourdough starter! I don't strain the starter, but it covers the jar without sealing in the pressure (I normally use small towels, but then I can't monitor the process as well).
