It’s essential to apply the principles of developing Godly habits in #homeschooling :

  1. Desire - I really wanted to homeschool my kids a long time ago. I prayed for God’s perfect timing and indeed, it turned out to be perfect.

  2. Discipline - I did not homeschool my kids to suit the lifestyle or schedule that I want nor to avoid traffic or let them sleep in. In fact, we are very strict with our bedtime routines and homeschool schedule. Unschooling, though beneficial to other families, is not my preferred style. I strongly believe in instilling good study habits to my kids for this will surely help them in adult life and responsibilities. As an intentional parent, I am supposed to train them up in the way they should go so they will not depart from it when they grow old (Proverbs 22:6). However, i have to be careful not to be coercive.

  3. Delight - I wake up each day with delight in my heart that it’s another day of learning and bonding with my kids. Each day is a gift from God and I always emphasize to my children the importance of appreciating God’s gift of wisdom and knowledge; and that learning/education goes beyond our tiny homeschool room set-up. The time that we spend studying, reading, watching, going outdoors, malling, grocery shopping must be valued. In fairness to my kids, they are always excited to start another school day. And so my heart delights even more.

WE ARE ALMOST DONE FOR THE SCHOOL YEAR 2017-2018!!! Hooray for long vacays!

Great words from Proverbs 22:6.
Our homeschool year ends in May but finishing 2nd trimester this month. We do have a schedule but not too strict since my kids are still little.how long have you been homeschooling?

Uhm, I still don't understand why people choose to homeschool. Aside from saving money for tuition, what are the other benefits? There's a curriculum to follow for homeschooling right? Do you download it online and also where do they get the graduate certification?
