IT'S FREE FOR ME 😁😁

With winter coming along with the cold weather, it's time to get some heat back into the cabin. We use a wood stove for heat, as it provides us with a completely free source of heat. Our forest looses enough branches and trees naturally, that we do not even have to cut down trees for wood. So this last weekend, I spent time cleaning up the wood stove to get it back in place.

It doesn't require much work. The hardest part is carrying the thing from the storage shed to the cabin. A little bit of steel wool and some elbow grease and the surface rust that had accumulated over winter was gone.

I cleaned up the base that it sits on and once it was in place I picked the stove up and set it on top and connected the stove pipe that lets the smoke out.

WARMING THINGS UP

Next, all that was left to do was to start a fire and make sure that everything still worked well.

*Good and hot. This'll keep the house warm this winter!

All in all I'm excited for winter to be here. Mainly, right now I'm excited about the fact Maple season is coming and I love making maple syrup.🤤🤤

A FUN TRIP TO TOWN

Sometimes I have to travel to town for certain needs. And on a recent trip to a small town called Grafton, Ella and I had a great time!!!

*A huge flock of geese as they stop for a break during their migration.

*The largest flag that flies above the Mississippi River.

*A local fisherman and his impressive catch. A couple of 30 lb or more catfish.

*A very large river cruise ship that stopped into port at the loading dock to allow travellers to site see in Grafton.
