thats why we put a base layer of large #3 rock about 9 inches thick. packed it in. then we put the 2B on top of that. the 2B cant go through the #3 rock layer. as for washing out, our driveway tilts away from road and we have a brick entrance from road for about 3 feet. keeps gravel in and doesnt allow the storm waters to affect the gravel.
