In between the many chores around the homestead that had to be tended to this weekend I was able to snap a few pictures so I could share with you all. I wish I could have posted more, and I most certainly will be. I spent many grueling hours researching and extensive note taking took place. We got goals people!

I digress. Tending to the chickens was a lot of fun. It's so easy to get caught up working on our computers and phones these days. How lucky are we to be able to take breaks with nature. Living in the woods has brought me a sense of peace that I never had living in the city. When collecting the eggs I made sure to take extra caution before placing my hands in the chicken coop. I made sure to bring a long stick and place it in all corners of the coop to check for predators. We had a snake inside the coop the other week when my husband was gathering eggs. Thankfully no one was hurt, though I can't say the snake had a happy ending.

But it wasn't all work and no play. Jackson and I took the long walk down to our mailbox. Other than getting eaten alive by mosquitoes it was a great way to clear the mind and refocus on the many tasks at hand. As you can see by the time we returned home from our journey Jackson had enough work.

Thankfully the husband unit returned home from his camping trip, and I'm ever so happy to have him back. While I love helping him the the labor side of things around the property. I tend to focus more on the business side of things. I believe that's why we make such a good team. We bring balance to each other and are always learning everyday.

so many fruit trees! I would never leave. I can eat fruit all the time :-)

That's nice that u appreciate the country. I lived in the country once, & I so-o-o loved ♥ getting to listen to the #RAIN fall softly against my window pane. It would hit the skylights, too ♦♦ And I loved going for walks and seeing chickens!

Anyhoo, sounds like you're having a fulfilling week (sans husband) - but it's sweet that he got to do a camping out, to re-charge his batteries.

The pic of your #dog on the couch (Ha) - all flaked out.. that was a Treasure. I did take time to vote for u.
Have a good week. ♥

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. thank you for taking the time to read it. Jackson thanks you as well :-) he loves comments and upvotes lol he would type it himself but he doesn't know how to.

We are blessed to be able to get out and enjoy a little bit of nature as well. I am laughing at your dog as that is exactly how ours would behave in this heat. Enjoyed your post. We love our chickens. Have a great day! 🐓🐓

@mother2chicks I'm very happy you enjoyed it. I love your steemit name lol you have so many articles I am eager to read through. following you to stay up to date. Have a great weekend beautiful!

Thanks for stopping by. 🐓🐓

Awesome man. Always wanted to raise some chicken and get my own egg produce. I have a small garden, but having chicken would annoy neighbours i'm sure LOL
Way to go @jamiekensell !

best not to upset the neighbors! when we first started we had our concerns about it too since we lived in the city. We started off with a few hens and the rest is history. The few hens made very little noise and no smells. You never know! Good luck, hope to see you with chickens soon :-)

haha thanks Jamie. Hope so too, you never know!

Great post, thanks for taking care of things while I was gone!

I'm sure you will find the upcoming content between our channels just what you need to get stared.

Also, thanks for the tip on checking the coop with a stick first instead of your hands just in case of predators I might not notice! NEEP!
