Nice, I've done what you are looking to do and am about to set off on a similar journey again.

Here are some good resources to find what you are looking for.

https://www.freecampsites.net
https://www.workaway.info
https://www.helpx.net/index.asp

The 2nd and 3rd are sites that connect those looking for help with volunteers. The average arrangement is 25hrs a week of work for room and board. There are quite a few offering what you are looking for, but read everything. Some are a bit stuffy and don't even allow tobacco use, but other's are a bit more open minded.

Good luck, my friend.

Many thanks for the tips and good wishes Notconvinced - have taken a look and they are great resources. Your proposed journey looks excellent - electric bike with trailer and dog friend for company - and it's mostly DIY! I'd love to travel in a similar manner and may do so in the future once crypto has moved significantly. I also joined WWOOF and have been looking at various rural places.

Thanks again for stopping by and all the very best to you too bro!
