The Best Horror Classics From The 1950's
Horror movies exist to use an audience's fear to garner an emotional reaction. Usually the plot involves some evil entering the world and wreaking havoc on everyone. Every decade has specific entries in the genre that stand out, below is a few of the ones from the 1950's.
"The Blob" stars Steve McQueen and Anera Corsaut as two teenagers, Steve and Jane, who witness a meteorite crash. From within the meteorite comes a red blob of goo. The Blob starts as a small oozy mass but begins to consume things starting with an old man.

As the movie continues the Blob continues to consume everyone and everything in its way. While the Blob is still small enough to go unnoticed Steve and Jane try to convince adults that there is an ooze killing people. However the adults dismiss it as a joke.
Eventually the Blob gets so big people notice it and try to stop it with no luck. When Steve and Jane are stuck in the basement of a diner with a few others they discover the Blob despises the cold. So they use fire extinguishers to freeze it and the Air Force transport the Blob to the Artic.
The movie "House on Haunted Hill" stars Vincent Price, Carol Ohmart, Carolyn Craig, Elisha Cook, Richard Long, Julie Mitchum and Alan Marshal. It is about an eccentric millionaire who locks 5 people in a house, along with he and his wife, telling them he will give them $10,000 each if they stay through the night without dying in the supposedly haunted house.
