My Winning The Procrastinator Award

in #humor8 years ago (edited)

This is a reply I wrote for winning the Procrastinator Award of 1972.
I received the award two years ago.
I just got around to writing a thank you response.
So without further ado here is what I wrote.
(I started this post a month ago.)

I’d like to thank The Procrastinators Club (American Chapter) for
awarding me Procrastinator Of The Year For 1972.

I am amazed that you saw fit to give me this award.
I’m amazed it ever arrived.

I’d like to say I’m not worthy, but I’m not sure who the other nominees were.
I don’t even know if anyone bothered to nominate anyone else.
I guess I should look it up.
I’ll do that later.

I wish I didn’t have to write this.
I would be nice if the Procrastinators could of rented a hall or something
to have this ceremony.
Maybe you will.

Then again it will probably have low attendance.
Only would-be procrastinators would be careless enough to show up.

So with that in mind, and realizing the high standards that the true procrastinators keep,
I tell you that I am deeply honored,
and disappointed in you for bothering.

Thank you.
