Well trains don't need batteries as the tracks are built with the power supply built in. With trucks the companies may be able to build their own charging stations. They may even get into swapping batteries out to reduce the stopped time.

Sort:  

the battery swap would be an efficient way to save time, that might even be faster than filling a tank with petrol.

It's been talked about for cars, but there are issues with who owns the batteries. With a fleet of trucks there's less issue. As they can tow a lot anyway they should be able to hook up an extra battery pack for some trips.
