pushing the russian narrative through a rash of documentaries
it is hilarious to see the 'documentary' icarus talk about putin's approval ratings having dropped to an abysmal 65% just before the sochi olympics, which reestablished him as the most respected leader in russia. a u.s. president would walk on water over 60%. seriously that is the cause and effect that this show is pushing, which is actual insanity. yeah, this is about as non-partisan as joseph mccarthy's diary. here is an alternate example of how far people are willing to go to characterize situations to the benefit of the western narrative: "The White Helmets’ Netflix documentary studiously avoids any discussion of the group’s interventionist, hyper-partisan agenda and omits any mention of its actual origins among Western governments, leaving the impression that the White Helmets are an organically developed band of politically impartial volunteers reflecting the Syrian consensus." this, unfortunately is about how much i trust the average netflix documentary to fairly represent all the facts, rather than those most flattering to the u.s., and most detrimental to any nation we happen to be at odds with for sale of energy, weapons, pipelines to europe through syria, etc.. that said, it is an interesting documentary and a well made hit piece. :) https://www.truthdig.com/articles/how-the-white-helmets-became-global-heroes-while-pushing-for-u-s-military-intervention-in-syria/
