Always loved the concept since I saw it. An album fully about themes, and not just any themes but hatred, fear, death and grief. Seeing it in contrast with this church is like the Star Wars debate between the light side and the dark side. Avoid the emotion or embrace it?
The performance of the idea is also astounding. Can't be further from performing full hatred than with such aggressive and harsh black metal. I always felt that it was the purest representation of the feeling I'd ever seen. It's also in German so extra points.
