Some would argue that. even when you see the tree fall, it's still in your imagination. When we dream, the same visual centres of the brain are stimulated as if we're awake. I believe it's the same when we visualise or imagine. Therefore... it always falls in our imagination.
I love this kind of thinking @craig-grant - I've been watching loads of stuff on the simulation argument recently which is a similar vibe. Cheers!
