I Love Nature Photo Challenge (Flowers) - Claude Monet Garden in Giverny
This is my contribution to the photo challenge #Ilovenature hosted by @starjewel on Whaleshares - today's theme is flowers.
When Victoria and I first met in Paris a couple of years ago, we decided to take a quick jaunt to Giverny to visit the Claude Monet Foundation. It is home to stunning floral landscapes and the famous water-lily pond which he painted so often.
Giverny is a small village in the middle of Normandy, but Monet fell in love with it when his train passed by in 1883, eventually living there for 43 years. Victoria and I understood why as we left a small piece of our hearts with the lavender scented gardens.
I just saw another post about Giverny last week. I must admit it never occurred to me that it was in Paris, must add it on my list for thr next Paris visit.

Beautiful photographs @seanreilly. The day we went to Giverny it was closed, sadly. Which was a bit strange as it was a public holiday.
Did you travel all the way from Paris? That must've been really annoying, what did you do instead?
No. We were driving up from a holiday in Spain and just happened to go past it so we just continued on our way. 😁
That's a really long drive, but I guess you have the opportunity to stop at many interesting places along the way :)
Oh yes. @seanreilly. We were camping and it got too hot in Spain so we drove across to the west coast of France but it was to wet there so we moved towards Paris, taking our time and camping as we went. 😁
