Imagination in action

Imagination is one of the fundamental characteristics of human subjectivity. It most clearly manifests the difference between man and animal ancestors. The philosopher E.V. Ilyenkov thus defined the role of imagination in human life: "The imagination taken by itself, or the power of imagination, belongs to the number of not only precious, but universal, universal abilities that distinguish man from animal. Without it, one can not take a step not only in art ... Without the power of imagination it would be impossible even to cross the street through the flow of motor vehicles. Mankind, devoid of imagination, would never launch a rocket into space.
