Raudhatul Ma'arif is an Islamic educational institution (dayah) located in Al-Akmal Mosque complex of Cot Trueng village, Bungkaih residence, Muara Batu sub-district, North Aceh district, Aceh province. Dayah was founded in 1946 under the leadership of Tgk Abu Bakar (Abu Cot Kuta, died 1969). After a vacuum for about 23 years, Dayah Raudhatul Ma'arif was officially opened on 21 June 1993 AD to coincide with 1 Muharram 1414 H under the leadership of Teungku H Muhammad Amin Daud (Father Cottrueng) who is the grandson of Abu Cot Kuta. Under his leadership, dayah Raudhatul Ma'arif developed very rapidly and rapidly, recorded up to now santri who number approximately 1700 santri who come from inside and outside aceh.
The old mosque inside the dayah Raudhatul Ma'arif was founded by Teuku Bentara Keumangan a Ulee Balang from Pidie Keumangan, circa 1812 AD In this mosque complex, the recitation activity is held. From generation to generation study in the mosque complex continues, although it had happened ups and downs when Dutch colonial aggression raged. At the end of the Japanese occupation were two scholars who taught at the Cot Trueng mosque, Teungku H. Muhammad Syam known as Teungku di Lhokweng, and then continued by Teungku Abdullah Geuchik Paneuk who was the son of Cot Trueng.
After that, the recitation activity at the Cottrueng Mosque was in vacuum, so in 1946 AD, the Cottrueng ministerial community picked up a great scholar of that time, Teungku Abubakar who was famous for calling Abu Cot Kuta, originally from Cot Kuta-Sawang, (at that time he has established a dayah in Krueng Mane starting in 1934 AD) to reactivate the recitation of the mosque complex in Cottrueng. So at that time inaugurated the Islamic Education Institute Dayah Raudhatul Ma'arif. Under the leadership of Abu Cot Kuta Dayah Raudhatul Ma'arif has produced many alumni who some of them can continue their studies, both domestically and abroad. There are also working in Government Institutions, self-employed and some are open branches of Pesantren in their respective places. 
After his death in 1969 AD, this institution was stopped as a dayah visited by santri from outside the region, because no leader can continue it, but so the study in the Institute of Education continues as before the presence of Abu Cot Kuta to Cot Trueng. After Abu Cot Kuta was gone, the study was continued by Tgk M Thaib Yusan Geurugok for about two years, he was an assistant teacher during Abu Cot Kuta. Then continued by Tgk Ishaq Ali. Then continued by Tgk M Yusuf Ben Cut are both sons of Cot Trueng.
In 1993 AD, the desire of Cot Trueng Kemesjidan community to revive Dayah Raudhatul Ma'arif was great after the hope of the future leader of dayah, namely Tgk Muhammad Amin Daud who is the grandson of the late Abu Cot Kuta. At that time Tgk M Amin Daud has become a senior teacher didayah MUDI Samalanga. So with the agreement of community leaders Kemesjidan Cot Trueng and the alumni re-launched Dayah Raudhatul Ma'arif on 21 June 1993 M coincided with 1 Muharram 1414 H under the leadership of Teungku H Muhammad Amin Daud. 
During the leadership of Tgk H. M Amin Daud, commonly called with the father of Cot Trueng, the name of Dayah Raudhatul Ma'arif was added with the words of Al-'Aziziyyah diujungnya so that Dayah Raudhatul Ma'arif Al-'Aziziyyah because the father of Cot Trueng is alumni dayah MUDI Samalanga. Under his leadership the spirit of Abu Cot Kuta feels alive again in Cot Trueng, so Dayah Raudhatul Ma'arif Al-'Aziziyyah becomes an advanced and famous dayah. So today this dayah has a santri of approximately 1700 people who come from Aceh and outside Aceh even from abroad.
