Hello My Steemain Friends ,
How are you. I hope you people of steemian are good and enjoy your life . Well I am well. May God bless you all. Today I am writing about an interesting topic is "What is euthanasia?" So, in this post I am going to share my point of view about this topic. I am going to share with you.
What is euthanasia? It is a situation where an individual has exhausted all hope and all avenues for recovery—when it becomes certain that they can never be cured—and they are enduring suffering beyond human endurance. At such a juncture, the individual requests euthanasia, asking that their life support systems be withdrawn so they may be liberated from their torment. While this may sound simple in theory, only those who have lived through it can truly comprehend its reality.
For the first time in India's history, an individual seeking euthanasia is set to be granted it. Harish Rana, a resident of Ghaziabad, was pursuing his B.Tech degree 13 years ago. He fell from the fourth or fifth floor of the building where he was residing. Upon being rushed to the hospital immediately after the fall, he was unable to speak or move; gradually, he slipped into a comatose state.
Thirteen years have passed since then, yet he remains in the same condition. The doctors have given up all hope, declaring that he can never recover. His family has been caring for him at home. Hailing from a middle-class background, their financial situation has deteriorated significantly over the years. They spared no effort in trying to secure treatment for him—doing everything within their means—but now, Harish Rana's parents themselves have grown old and frail.
For the past 13 years, his mother has faithfully kept her son abreast of every single detail of their daily lives at home. She sits by his bedside every day, recounting all the events of the day to him—clinging to the hope that, someday, her son will wake up and speak to her. For any parent, it is an agonizing ordeal to see their young son trapped in such a state.
When the doctors unequivocally declared that he would never recover, Harish Rana's parents filed a petition in court requesting that their son be granted the right to die, thereby liberating him from his suffering. They argued that, given their advanced age, there would be no one left to care for their son after they passed away. Consequently, after many years of legal proceedings, the government has finally delivered a verdict granting their son the right to euthanasia.
This verdict was so heart-wrenching that it moved even the presiding judge to tears, witnessing the profound anguish of parents forced to watch their own child suffer in such a manner. Parents are dying a little every day. A single accident has shattered the entire lives of both them and their son. With what dreams must the young man have embarked upon his B.Tech studies? For parents, it is an unbearable ordeal to witness their young son in such a condition.
His life support system has been withdrawn. They are now simply awaiting the inevitable moment of death—a reality that causes deep anguish to anyone who hears of it. Tears flow uncontrollably at the thought of the mental agony his parents must be enduring right now, and—if the young man is still capable of any awareness—at the thought of what must be going through his own mind.
