Play with emotion!

Tears in the eyes,
But lips are still holding a smile;
Throat choked!
Words can't flow like the Nile.

What's the definition of pain?
Can anyone describe?
How to bear it every day and retain it?
After facing every day,
What can we gain?

It's like an unsolved puzzle.
Unable find the correct words
Only a bit of hints dazzle!

Reality always comes naked.
They don't hold any brackets!

I want back my childhood...
I want back those moments...
I want to go back to my past;
Which vanished in the blink of an eye;
Neither does it last longer
Leave me without saying goodbye!

What's the meaning of love?
Is it a mirage, or a bluff?

I have seen a good actor in real life;
They don't need a stage,
Neither camera nor light!

Though they hold inside junk;
Don't have the guts to accept
From inside they are real funks!

I’ve grown weary of the superficiality that permeates our interactions. While we all enjoy drama in TV series or on stage, the real-life performances some people put on can be even more revealing—especially when we recognise how phoney their personalities are, hidden behind sweet talk.

Someone can indeed deceive others once or even twice, but not indefinitely. Let’s be real: the truth may be black and white, but I choose to walk the path of honesty rather than associate with hypocrites.

Challenging situations are invaluable; they help us discern between colourful lies and stark truths. Increasingly, the acting I’ve witnessed is becoming irritating, prompting me to distance myself from those who thrive on deception.

These individuals often harbour hidden expectations and prioritise their own self-interests. They treat others like mere furniture in their lives! However, they overlook a crucial truth: time observes everything, and that’s why so many proverbs about time exist. Remember, what goes around comes around.

What frustrates me the most is when people toy with emotions. As human beings, we must not forget that the actions we take toward others often return to us in one way or another.

Taking care of our hearts—both our own and those of others—is essential.

Just a short while ago, I received photos of Ballygunge Government School via WhatsApp. A reunion is happening today, and talented artists are set to perform. This esteemed school, located in West Bengal, has produced remarkable alumni like Satyajit Ray, Shekhar Basu, Suman Chattopadhyay, Prosanta Roy (IAS), and Dipankar Bandopadhyay. Seeing those pictures transported me back to my own school days!

Those memories are among the few I truly cherish, as there isn’t much else that brings me joy. Today, I want to deliver a message through this poetry that I believe many can relate to in their lives.

Trusting others has become increasingly challenging. Too often, people store their weaknesses, only to exploit them once they believe their interests have been fulfilled. When they emerge from their shells like snails, they reveal their true selves—ugliness cloaked in deception.

They may fancy themselves great actors who can fool everyone, but many of us see through the facade, recognising that true judgment belongs to a higher power. After all, no one judges better than Him, in my view.

It’s easy to cause tears borne out of pain, but it’s far more challenging to be the reason behind someone’s smile. I urge everyone to reflect before playing with others’ emotions; time moves at its own pace, and when we find ourselves in the same position as those we’ve wronged, we will inevitably grasp the true meaning of pain.
