Longer-term I think such projects will need to be more focused on individual niches within Steemit rather than the whole community, and it seems some groups are already taking this direction by spliting curation into several sub-niches.

^ A great point! And we believe so too, once the "communities" feature becomes available Steemit will only become more diverse and creative in terms of support networks.
