Hello guys hope you are doing well. Today I am going to write about the project of Indian government and the project is project Dhoop. In a research recently conducted by the government of India it is found that most of the Indian people are suffering from deficiency of Vitamin D. To tackle this problem Indian government come up with a healthy solution. Project to adjust School to shift morning assembly to noon time mainly between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to ensure maximum absorption of vitamin D in students through natural sunlight. Our body must have vitamin D to absorb calcium and promote bone growth. Too little vitamin D results in soft bones in children which is causing( rickets )and fragile, misshappen bones in adults (osteomalacia ).You also need vitamin D for their important body function. Vit D is also important for the absorption of calcium magnesium and phosphate.

why are people suffering from deficiency of Vitamin D?

Vitamin D deficiency occurs due to overuse of sunscreen ,wearing clothes that cover most of the skin, working all the day in air conditioned ATM and other factors.

How does sunlight gives us Vitamin D?
So when we get sunlight on our skin our body produces a substance called cholecalciferol. This is then turned into calcidiol and then calcitriol by the liver and kidney. We could also get vitamin D from cold liver oil, raw milk, eggs etc.

Hope you like it.
