Virender Sehwag praised IPL.
Virender Sehwag credits to the IPL that it has played an important role in bringing the unknown players to the top level of the game. The former explosive opener presented the example of all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Yusuf Pathan, fast bowler Mohammad Siraj and Australia's David Warner and Glenn Maxwell in support of his opinion.
Sehwag said to PTI, I think that IPL has done this to Indian cricket that it has introduced unknown players to the Indian cricket team. If they play for their first-class team, then they take at least five to six years to reach the Indian team and play in it.
He said, But the players who have talent through IPL and who did well in just one session and next year they became part of Team India. IPL has played this role.
Sehwag said, "Ravindra Jadeja is one of them and so is with Yusuf Pathan. Recently Deepak Hooda, fast bowler Mohammad Siraj and Basil Thampi - were selected in the Indian team due to their performance in the IPL.
