We learnt of a topic today, of organization behavior. What is organization behavior : it is the study of the many factors that have an impact on how people and groups act, think, feel, and respond to work and organization, and how organization respond to their environment (George and Jones,2005:4). Organizational behavior (OB)is directly concerned with the workplace and human side of management and with the application of techniques. Ogunbameru (2008:124) writes that (OB) is the systematic study of the actions and attitudes that people exhibit within organizations. Hodgetts and altman (1979) defined (OB) as being concerned with describing, understanding, predicting, and controlling human behavior in an organizational environment. French, last and Rosenzweig (1985:14) explained it as fellows: organization behaviour is a field of study base on research, observations, and theory. It is concerned with analyzing and understanding the attitudes, feelings, perceptions, motives, and behavior of people in an organzational context. Its primary goals are improved individual and organizational performance and increased participant satisfaction. OB is also defined as the systematic study of the nature of organizations - how they begin, grow, and develop and their effects on individual members, constituent group, other organizations and larger institution (Kelly,1980). Cummings ( 1978) defined OB as the study of individual and group behavior within organizations and organization and the application of such knowledge. He sees OB as more concept- oriented and emphasized that it is a way of thinking - a way of conceiving problems and articulating rearch and action solutions. It is a field of study that investigates the impact that individuals, groups, and structure have on behavior within organizations for the purpose of applying such knowledge toward improving an organizations effectiveness (Robins 1999:7)
