Hygroelectricity is a type of static electricity that forms on water droplets and can be transferred from droplets to small dust particles. The phenomenon is common in the earth's atmosphere but has also been observed in the steam escaping from boilers. It was the basis for a proposal by Nikola Tesla to tap electricity from the air, an idea which has been recently revived. Hygroelectric charge is the likely source of the electric charge which, under certain conditions such as exist in thunderstorms, volcanic eruptions and some dust storms, gives rise to lightning.

Not a problem.
It's called a lightning rod.
Make a rilly, rilly, RILLY tall one.
from ground to the Ionosphere.
power shortage problem solved.

Don't try this at home. Only use dhikrats during the construction process.
DC seems like a promising site.

Yeah, when I heard about it places that were very humid there were devices that could supposedly tap into that and actually produce some energy. It supposedly didn't work too well in non-humid areas.

It's been probably a half a decade or more since I first heard about it, and I haven't really looked it up for awhile.

That is just one of the weird "energy" techniques I've read about.

most of the weird energy things don't work.
if they did we'd be using them.
right now, today, you or I have more resources at our disposal than JP Morgan did in his day.
If Tesla could do it...so can we
(speaking of resources)
if we knew how.
If you know how to do it...it's easy.
