RE: Sound Suppressor From an Oil Filter
great post. But it looks like you have to use a scope or else you can't see over the iron sites with a suppressor on correct?
you mean it's not like in the movies where you just hear a "spit" sound when they're using silencers?
With the long thin filter you can use open sights ok... and no, it isn't like in the movies, except with a .22... anything larger still makes some noise.
thank you sir. well it would be nice if we could use them and they were effective
enough not to need hearing protection especially the large bulky headsets.
They're not that loud... check the video on the last link, it shows one in action.
yes sir checked it out. The .22s were silent except the action of the gun working, I thought that was amazing. I wonder if hitmen or assassins use something like that at times.
I've seen a 2 liter pop bottle used once on a .22 with some steel wool in it. They just taped it on the end of a rifle and it had the same effect. I'm sure that if I can figure this out the "pros" surely must have... I'm just a crazy old man.
yeah crazy like a Fox!
well I was thinking of Mafia hits but I think they like to use
.22s to the head so they wouldn't need the oil filter type.
