Well said and written. Resteemed. I see cop cars parked out front of high schools all the time now. Ugh. I see the newer "architecture" look like a low-security prison. Sunblasted, concrete, and bare.

And I see the older high schools, built in the 1920s and 30s and see the grand Romanesque columns, arches, gateways, quadrangles, shade, trees and it hurts to think of what it would have been like then. Of course not perfect, but at least not this.
