Cultural Warrenism

in #informationwar5 years ago

During the latest Democratic debate for the presidential primaries in Iowa we saw precisely where Cultural Marxism originates. It's not from old disgruntled Marxist university professors, as the anti-woke right wing would have you believe, but from the corporate elite who have control over establishment party members, like the backstabbing home-girl Elizabeth Warren; it was a fine display of Cultural Warrenism indeed...

For those who haven't American politics this past year, let me summarize what happened over the past few days, and try to put that in perspective. Trump is the current president, and he's a Republican; to remove this pathological liar (sorry Trump supporters, this is an objective fact) from office there needs to be a Democratic president next time around, preferably one that is not a pathological liar. Democratic candidates have been racing against each other to win the privilege of becoming the nominee to take on Trump in the next national presidential elections this year. This race is coming to its grand final, as there are only three weeks left before the first actual primary elections start to decide which candidate will take on Trump; it's crunch time, as they say.

Since the very beginning one candidate has been the front runner, the one to beat: Joe Biden. Biden has a large base of support, among which a large group of African American voters, largely due to his notoriety as a result of being the vice president under the first black president of the country, Barack Obama. These last months Bernie Sanders has been the default number 2 in the polls, and both these men have distanced themselves from all other candidates; the expectation is that one of these two will become the nominee. Sanders however still trails Biden in the national polls, and also had a set-back a few months ago when he had a light heart attack, and Elizabeth Warren briefly surged in the polls to take the number two seat. This moment in the Sun for Warren didn't last long; after it was clear that Bernie suffered no negative effects from his medical adventure, and after Warren published her "plan" to implement medicare for all, which is not a plan at all and designed to fail, Bernie quickly took back the number two seat and has been steadily rising ever since.

Rising so much in fact that even the mainstream media has to take him serious and can't just play the Bernie Blackout game anymore; they've switched from simply ignoring him to actively smearing him. You know all about the mainstream media's mistreatment of both Andrew Yang and Bernie Sanders if you've read any of my previous posts about this race. This should come as no surprise though; the mainstream media is an extension of the corporate elite and the political establishment that works for this elite. Political campaigns fund the mainstream media through hundreds of billions of dollars invested in commercials each election cycle, and by the ads purchased by big pharma, the fossil fuel industry and so on; they will never bite these hands that feed them. The constant messaging that medicare for all is somehow impossible, or that Americans are in love with their overpriced private insurance, comes from these big money donors. Warren, like any member of the Democratic party establishment, is beholden to the wishes of these donors, which is why politicians always do what's good for them and never what's good for the people. This has led to growing mistrust in politics, again on both sides, and to the election of the first goofball who said that he would "drain the swamp".

We all know what goofball did, and it's not draining the swamp; tax cuts for the rich, continuing the wars he promised to get out of, even threatening to start a new one in Iran... Politics under Trump has been more of the same, but with an unashamedly nasty slant. Compulsive liar Trump has, like so many far right populists, organized around himself a cult of personality; his supporters will defend him no matter what, will laugh at his racist jokes during his rallies, and admire his strong posture against those far away brown people wearing headbands and body-tents... Not my words by the way. His son, Donald Trump Jr, recently posed in a picture on Instagram holding an assault rifle bearing a heraldic Jerusalem or "five-fold" cross, an old medieval emblem that's been appropriated by white supremacists. Under the cross there's a picture of Hillary Clinton behind bars... Ah, it's all good innocent fun I suppose... It's in this polarized atmosphere that the far right once again conjured up the phantom of "Cultural Marxism".

Cultural Marxism was called Cultural Bolshevism when the Nazi's crafted this bogus theory which was to be used in a propaganda war against socialists, who Hitler connected to a Jewish conspiracy. Cultural Marxism, in other words, stems from Marx's greatest ideological adversaries; it's absurd to think that it's a conspiracy from socialists. The modern understanding of Cultural Marxism, spread by intellectually dishonest hacks like Ben Shapiro and Jordan Peterson, goes like this: seeing that they lost the actual class struggle between the capitalists and the working class, socialists decided to camouflage their ideology by creating new class struggles, like black versus white, male versus female, straight versus gay, you know, the "woke" "identity politics" that distract from the real struggle and ruin much of our modern cultural heritage, like some famous TV and movie franchises that shall remain unnamed in this post... Okay, maybe not: Star Wars, Star Trek, Doctor Who, Terminator, Ghost Busters, Bat Woman, and I could go on naming titles we all loved but now suffer from an emphasis on political "woke" messaging over actual good storytelling.

TENSE Moments Between Warren and Sanders at Democratic Debate in Iowa

Cultural Marxism, even the the woke political correctness practiced by not only the Democrats, but left wing parties all over the western hemisphere, are wholly a creation of the oligarchy, the right wing plutocrats. Because it's true that identity wokeness has been adapted by the left, but that's a function of them having embraced the same corporate donors and consequently the same economical and foreign policies the right wing has traditionally embraced. All over the western world these past decades the actual difference between the two, where it really counts at lest, has grown smaller and smaller, to the point where voters have given up on both. Which is what gave us Trump as leader of the free world... The idea of Cultural Marxism is the result of a sharp move to the right in global politics, and used by those who believe we still have to move some more to the right to defame leftist politics and politicians.

Warren embodied all this perfectly during the Iowa debate. A few days earlier it was leaked by someone in the Warren campaign that Bernie Sanders said to her, in a conversation more than a year ago, that he doesn't believe a woman could win the elections against Donald Trump. Anyone who knows anything about Bernie Sanders immediately recognized how very improbable it is that he would have said something even remotely like that. The timing of this leak is suspect too: this is Warren's last chance to make a dent in Bernie's lead among the progressive Democratic base. Also, one or two days before this leak, Warren accused Sanders of "sending volunteers out to trash me," when all the campaigners did was state facts about Warren's support; affluent, mostly white and "woke," and that her campaign is unlikely to turn out new voters. Warren chooses to classify that as "trashing her," and laments how disappointed she is in her "good friend" Bernie Sanders. This sexism-attack by Warren shows just how woke she is; remember where this leftist focus on identity comes from? Right, so we know she's not committed to any REAL change, just the cosmetic ones the left has pandered to since they gave up the only real class struggle... Unlike Bernie, Elizabeth does take money from large corporate donors; only during these primaries did she refuse them, just to temporarily paint herself a real progressive in the public eye, and she's already said that she will take big donations if she became the Democratic nominee with the excuse that she won't run against Trump with a financial deficit. She's lying though, and she's got a history of lying to back that claim up:

In fact, I think it’s fairly easy to conclude that Warren’s claim is highly dubious. This is because:

1. Bernie Sanders has a long history of saying the opposite of what Warren is accusing him of saying, and thinking a woman can't win is incompatible with his political worldview.

2. Elizabeth Warren has a long history of saying untrue and distorted things for politically opportunistic reasons.

First: Would Bernie say this? Well, here's Bernie in 1987 lamenting that there aren’t more women in office and encouraging young girls to run. And here's Bernie in 1988, saying: "In my view, a woman could be elected president of the United States. The real issue is 'whose side are you on?'" In fact, Bernie encouraged Warren herself to run in 2016, and only entered the race because she declined to do it. This would be a strange thing to do if he thought a woman could not be president.
In fact, the idea that Bernie thought a woman couldn't beat Trump does not ring true, because it completely contradicts his theory of politics. Bernie does not think Hillary Clinton lost because she was a woman, but because she had bad politics and a bad message. (And she still got more votes! How could anyone possibly believe a woman couldn't win, since we know she can get the most votes?) Bernie believes, as he said in that 1988 clip, that the real question is which side you are on.
source: Current Affairs

I recommend reading the entire Current Affairs article that has the title "The Credibility Gap". And that's just the question: who's side are you on? The fake left and the far right would have you believe that there's a male and a female side, a white and a black side, a straight and a gay side, and that those are the inter-sectional frontiers along which the battle for the will of the people is decided. This is the phantom war the fake corporate left wages against the fake corporate right, but ultimately against their own voter-base and the people at large. This is not to say that there are no special concerns regarding women, immigrants, same-sex couples or other sections of the population; it's simply factual that women and people of color are discriminated against in a systemic way. It is to say however that this is not the fight we're looking for, this is not the fight that keeps us down and divided all at once. That fight is abandoned by the political left since they also sold their souls to the moneyed interests. In America however, there is one sole Independent who knows where the real divide lays, and knows exactly which side he's on...

Bernie Sanders is the only candidate, on both political sides, who's completely free from corporate or establishment donations and has always taken this position throughout his political career of some 30 plus years. There are videos of him on YouTube, from 1987 and 1988, with him clearly advocating for America's first female president. He literally tells little girls in school that they can become this first female president. In 2015 Bernie asked Warren to run against Hillary Clinton, because almost nobody knew about him yet and he thought Warren would be a good progressive alternative for Clinton who clearly was a corporate backed candidate. Only after Warren refused to run, did he take up the mantle and almost won against Clinton. To this day many disillusioned Democrat voters, who voted for Obama twice and then switched to Trump who promised to bring back their jobs and drain the swamp, say that they would have voted for Sanders if he had been the Democratic candidate. People are hungry for change, and rightly so. After this back-stabbing woke display of identity smearing by Warren, it should be clear that there's only one true and honest progressive candidate; it's a touch of cosmic misfortune that his initials spell B.S. ;-)
