Inktober 2017 Day 6 Medusa +Process

in #inktober7 years ago

I feel better about this one than my previous post. I wanted to do the scales of the snakes, but for the sake of my sanity, I thought it would be best if I didn't. In my last post, I said I was going to be simple to give myself less stress.

There are areas in the ink where I could have been a bit more consistent, but overall I'd give it a "not bad" rating. I often struggle with regular hair, so I'm happy that I was able to pull this one off.

Now, I'm going to show you my process.

I always use references. I don't really know how to manage otherwise.

After I did the initial sketch, I was giggling like a school girl. Her hair looks a little ... phallic.

A few little gagged ink lines which I tried to fix by going over them, but it just made the lines darker and more obvious.

And that is how we ended up with this:

I was a bit stumped on what to draw for day 7, none of the prompts appealed to me at all. But I decided I'll be drawing a mythical creature from my home country, a tikbalang. Think BoJack Horseman. Wish me luck!

Nice to see the process!

Yeah! I try to provide the process when I can. I like seeing other artist process as well.

When the snakes shed their skin, does Medusa get dandruff?

Hmmm deep philosophical questions of life. Yeah, I guess it counts as dandruff.
