How Does Internet/Backbones Works?

The internet is a connection of millions of computers. These computers are link together on a computer network. The network is used by computer to communicate with one another. A personal computer can be connected to the Internet by using telephone like, DSL, High speed lines and LAN. These devices communicate with the server of Internet services provider (ISP ). ISP are connected with larger ISP's. Several main transmission media connect these ISP's. These media are internet backbone. Backbone are connected through fiber optic lines, submarine cable or satellite links. In this way every computer on the Internet is connected with each other. These computers can exchange data and information using server and clients.
