Hi, my name is Ed. I work on the Detroit River. I have spent my whole life working on the water, starting with life guarding, and a few years in the U.S. Coastguard. I have sailed all the Great lakes, and a bit of the ocean. Life is never Dull on the water and as we say," Semper paratus" which means always ready, or prepared. Most boats always have two engines. If one engine dies, you have back up. A good motto to live by. We Always check the weather, we pack for all weather, and prepare for emergencies. Sh** happens.
