Presentation of the translator project
Who am I?
Hello everyone, first of all I think I need to introduce me, I’m Enzo, a young French student aged of 17 years and a user of Steem since June 2017, first of all I had a little blog and then I created a new account (because I lost the password of my first account). My second account is @enzor. Here on the Steem community I have always been divided between two communities. The French and the English one, I did like the French community of Steem because we were few people and were close to each other but I felt sad because the main posts of the Steem community were English ones and some French steemians weren’t able to access to them because of their English level. And there were also a lot of good post written in French that weren’t accessible to the English community. That’s why almost every post on my account are written in both French and English.
What is the purpose of this account?
So, I had an idea, as Steem is a platform were people are sharing knowledges or information it would be better if everyone one this platform can have access to every post (but of course that’s impossible). So, I searched a way to make post accessible to almost everyone on this platform and I had the idea to create an account on which a group of people could translate some of the best post of the community into other languages. But I don’t really know how to do that. I only have an idea.
How is it going to work?
The best way to make all those good posts accessible to more person is to translate the text, but I don’t want such a bad translation as google translate one (even if there are a lot of improvement). So, I think that the best would be to “hire” people who speak other languages to translate the post the best way possible. For the moment there will be only me and I will translate the post from French to English and vice versa. As I am just a student and not bilingual the best would be to have some helps from people with a better level than mine. And that’s why I want to “hire” people able to translate perfectly those post, and why not build a team in a near future, but for the moment I’ll translate some post alone.
But, in fact, you are just stealing the content of other steemians
Of course not. The aim is to ask person if they want their post to be translated and posted on our blog. Then if they accept, they can choose one of the 3 options below:
- Full earning, if they choose this option every SBD generated by the post will be sent to the author of the post.
- Powering UP, this option allows us to post the translated post with 100% SteemPower as a reward
- Sharing, with this option the author of the original post tells the percentage of SBD he wants to get from the reward, the rest will be divided into SteemPower and earnings for the translator of the post.
Who would want to translate post of other people if he doesn’t earn anything?
I think that the Steem community isn’t really based on earning money and there is a good solidarity between steemian and a real want of sharing information accessible to everyone. So, most of the translators would be volunteers but those volunteers can earn money as I said upon, and moreover the translators will have their post upvoted by this account daily.
I have a lot of ideas for this account but I can’t tell them for the moment because I don’t have the knowledges that I need or the relationships, but with your help, one day the account will be one of the pillars of the community.
How can I help this project?
If you want to helps us you can send us some STEEM or SBD or even delegated us some steempower in order to help us being more powerful and influent on this platform. You can also send us some translations of post that you like a lot and we will talk to the author of this post if he wants his post to be translated by us
