Hi everyone! ...an introduction

Hey!

So I work in IT, and I'm working on developing android apps. I live outside of Denver, CO and have a 1-acre farm as well. We raise chickens and goats, and we'd be growing vegetables too if we weren't consistently pummeled by hail. :P

I got interested in the crypto-world shortly after bitcoin came out. Unfortunately I never had the hardware to successfully mine it. Same went for litecoin when I learned of it 3 years ago. But then a few months ago I learned about gridcoin, got interested enough to get back into BOINC, and started mining it. I still have sub-par hardware, but it's going steadily.

I learned about steemit by reading posts about gridcoin, so I signed up. I think I'll use my earnings from these 2 sources to upgrade my machine.

Another thing about me, is my wife and I are planning on opening a game shop and internet cafe here in our town. We'll have rooms for tabletop gaming, an open area for card games and board games, and a PC area for more games and even homewor. We'll have coffee, snacks, and even some movies. It will be tailored toward school-age children too. This is the plan anyway; we'll see how it goes.
