INTRODUCING @ALEXTIMAN TO THE STEEM BLOCKCHAIN

in #introduceyourself6 years ago (edited)

Hi Everyone…, My name is Tomide Alexander, I am a Nigerian. This is actually my first post here, my user name is @alextiman. I studied Electrical and Electronics Engineering at one of the best Universities in Nigeria; The Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State Nigeria (Precisely, is the best University of Technology in Nigeria). I heard about this great community few months ago through a friend of mine [@essiential] who is also a member. With the explanation and details of how things work here, he encouraged me and I was convinced that steemit is a great community where I should belong. I was so anxious and delighted to join this wonderful community…Thank God I’m here. I’m very glad to be here with you guys because I believe this is a platform where people with great ideas and concepts can easily share and gain more from others. I see this platform as a driving force for people who are here, value why they are here and committed to what they are doing to express their talent and ideas. This makes life easier.

I am an IT/ICT person; I am working with some IT professionals to maintain and develop one SME’s IT/ICT services. As part of my job, I have gained extensive experience in networking and maintenance of communication equipment, maintenance and repairs (hardware and software) of computers.
I am now familiar with various aspects of installing, configuring, upgrading, troubleshooting and maintaining network equipment. I have a keen eye for investigating, diagnosing and resolving IT issues when they arise. What I love doing most is programming….it gives me joy!! Here I will be vigilant enough to learn from your great posts and at the same time be posting on how some basic things can be done with programing. Besides, I would love to share some tips on, Physics, Mathematics, Excel, Microsoft Access and how to do some technical stuffs. These I’ll achieve using #dtube as I consider it to be user friendly.

I want to extend my sincere gratitude to @nerd, the founder of steemit for such a wonderful platform that appreciates the creativity of its users. Next on my list is sir Ajayi Terry A.K.A @surpassinggoogle , he is a very great fellow who knows how to carry everyone along as I have taken my time to examine his blog.. And then, the most incredible #steembather Sir @dimimp, the most selfless steemian I have come to know of. He undoubtedly gave @essiential , the drive he(@essiential) needed to further his journey here. I want to also thank top Nigerian/Wafrica community founders/members ; @surfyogi ,@ejemai @lordjames @deandaniel @julietisreal, @peculiarerhis, @ubongj @mbj @empato365 (I heard he is the #steemjet money man), you all have kept your flags flying high.

(With Mr @essiential during break period)

Hello alextiman! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

  1. Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
  2. Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
  3. Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
  4. Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.
  5. Have Fun and Enjoy!

For a detailed writeup, check our post Getting Started: 5 Essential Tips for New Users.

Good luck on your Steem journey! Follow us if you like to receive more helpful tips and maximize your Steemit experience.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate.

Welcome nice to have you here , maybe you are lucky to be joining when steem is at a really low price . When price is low less people are posting and you have a better chance to earn steem . I highly recommend you post a lot and keep on posting . Till you get to at least 15 Steem Power. Don’t give up . I don’t recommend you buy Steem Power but I do recommend you post often till you get to 15 Steem Power. If you can not post go ahead and make sure to vote at least 6 times when you wake up and 4 times when you are going to bed . No more and no less

Why wouldn't you recommend him to buy steempower??

Ok cool. Thanks

Welcome to steemit, enjoy ur staying here.

  2. Don't quit. Keep moving on.
  3. Steemit cannot reset your password for you if you lose it, therefore have a backup for it. Make sure to save your master password and all steemit keys somewhere safe.
