Hello Steemians!

I'm new here and this is my introducing myself post... so here we go!

I've been enjoying drifting through your posts, learning about you, getting a feel for you all, as one growing tribe. And to you all I say, thank YOU for being here.

My name is Boydie (pronounced Boy-dee) – an old family name and nickname I answer to.

I've generally been into all kinds of things; being a little over-ambitious at trying to do too much at once; trying to learn too much at once; and usually getting frustrated with my lack of progress.

Still, through persistence and the right teachers I was finally able to slow my mind down enough to begin to find a new and better way of looking at life, that better suited me. (Maybe it was getting older? Maybe a little wisdom began to “stick”?)... Maybe you can relate?

Whatever it was, the community of Steemit feels right, like a family – a dysfunctional family (of course). What other kind is there, right? He-he.

My bio lists a little bit about me, if you want to read that. I no longer have a Facebook account. I do still have a Twitter account though...

I visit it from time to time, as it's helped me align with some like-minded/spirited people I enjoy saying hey to.

Maybe this is a good way to prove my identity as well? It's what I've got now. Also, I've linked back from my Steemit account from my Twitter profile.

There may even be some people who follow that link to find Steemit, as a kind of “happy accident” like I did! Thankfully.

As seems pretty common from the comments I've read by Steemit “Minnows”, I've got a lot of learning to do in order to figure out the proper and best way to connect with, and to contribute to, the Steemit community. However, I look forward to the journey.

I love hearing thoughts from people with hard-earned opinions; with life experiences that helped them to grow. Maybe you can relate?

Learning how people succeed in all kinds of things really can be inspiring and eye-opening as to discovering new goals, new hobbies, investments, careers... anything really.

It's the combining of different ideas and points of view that seems to be where magic is created... in inventions, technology, and one's path in life. All we have to do is to keep an open mind and heart. That's my “take” on it anyway.

I'm a believer in embracing change... in being a part of growth that moves each of us towards a happier, more peaceful, more awe-inspiring, and more fun and satisfying life all the way around...

And I've found that it gets even better when you find a way to do something, or to say something that helps to lift up a fellow human being along the way.

Doing something big or small (it doesn't really matter) makes a difference - as long as you try to make the connection with someone else, with love and kindness, as you go about your day.

If you're like me you really enjoy hearing about those kind of things too – about those moments of giving of yourself. Even better is being the giver, which I love doing... whenever I make a point to get out of my own head long enough to make the effort. But I'm always glad when I do.

I hope my ramblings here in Steemit may occasionally add some new ideas or some small benefit to your life now and then, as I already know YOURS do for mine.
