Welcome to Steemit. I'm also interested in the spiritual element of what people label "mental illness"... I was diagnosed psychotic back in 2001, but I'm 99% sure that the psychologists and psychiatrists didn't know the whole story.

@sterlinluxan has some interesting articles about psychiatry can pathologise behaviours and ways of thinking which may be important parts of self-development, and I highly recommend his work. My opinion is that, many people need a shaman during those times.
