Hallo Steemit! Connecteconomy introduced me! Here I am just embracing chaos.steemCreated with Sketch.

Hmm. I’ve been here for over a month and am only now getting around to writing my “introduce yourself” post. You think I have commitment issues?

Part of the reason it has taken me so long to do this is that I had/have no idea what to say.

One of the things I love about Steemit is the relative anonymity, and that I can just write in the moment. I don’t have a fixed idea in my head about it. I’m not a lifestyle blog, or a crypto blog, or a foodie blog, or a meditation blog, or a funny blog, or a bare-it-all blog. Right now I’m just trying to figure it out as I go along. I have no idea how my Steemit contribution will end up. I’m enjoying it so far. But I’m not sure where I fit!

I guess I am a bit of all the above:

I live, ergo, have a lifestyle.

My big fascinations right now are cryptocurrencies and virtual reality (have you seen some of that stuff?!). But while I love the idea of new technologies, I’m also the person they write the ‘Fools Guide…’ for.

I like food (as long as I don’t have to cook it—I’m a washer-upper).

I think meditation is great and aim to do it regularly for lots of time every day, but at the moment it’s restricted to thinking ooooohhhm while commuting and occasionally actually creating the time to sit and meditate. My ideal would be to achieve the Vipassana goal of two hours a day—one morning, one evening—but when I start to do it regularly I get a bit spaced and can’t make a decision about what to buy in the supermarket, which gives my rational self the perfect excuse to replace meditation time with the other simple pleasures in life, like wine, chat and food (that I haven’t had to cook).

We’re all funny and I love my sense of humour (it saves me from madness), but I’m not sure that what I think is funny translates. One of my favourite jokes is “A cheese and tomato sandwich goes into a bar and orders a pint of beer and a packet of crisps. The barman says ‘Sorry. We don’t serve food.’” Let’s say childlike rather than childish. My inner child is alive and well. Unfortunately, so is my inner teenager (at a time when she should be long gone, have worn the t-shirt, and settled into comfortable comfortableness).

As to baring-it-all: well that’s why I love the relative anonymity of Steemit. I like being able to just write without worrying too much about the world reading. Which is illogical, as I’m writing on the blockchain! For me it’s a bit like dancing as if no one is watching (which I’m pretty good at!). I’d really like to be able to truly write as if no one was reading. Without monitoring myself or worrying about who’s checking it and what they think.

Hopefully I will find a direction at the end, but maybe it will be like my life; a bit here and there, no straight lines. I’m trying to embrace the chaos along the way—hence the name. I can’t complain it’s not interesting…

Part of my Steemit experience so far has been learning how to format and use gifs. I made this one using gif.me. This may be the only time in your life you get to see a bust of Samuel Beckett grooving. I suspect once is enough.

Onwards Steemians—I’m glad to be one of you!

Sort:

"Dance like nobody is watching / write like nobody is reading" LOL :D
I liked the joke about "we don't serve food", but it's this that really cracked me up, haha, I don't know why I find this so funny...

Glad I can bring a bit of joy into the world ;)

Welcome to Steemit ! I am @minnowhelp, nice to meet you !

I do check the values of some offers here and hope so to help new steemians. I just started this project !

In my session 1 of testing the value of an @booster upvote I tracked the gains of different users by using this offer - so - for example @mitchiesfoodrace got for an investment of $4.9 and Post Upvote worth $12.2 !
