Getting Personal With Me
Marilyn Monroe once said, “I’m selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can’t handle me at my worst, then you surely don’t deserve me at my best.” This quote speaks to me in a spiritual level.
My name is Joshua and I am 21 years young. I am currently struggling to get that bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering. Technically, I am 21 academic units away from getting that personally coveted degree. Above all else, I am pursuing this degree because I want to make the world a better place to live in.
I am very happy person and I love making other people happy too. That being said, people around me think that I’m always rainbows and butterflies; but little do they know, behind this jolly façade hides a person who deeply feels the sadness in this world. Nevertheless, I always do my best to be the friend that everyone needs me to be.
Even in all my effort to be a better person every day, I still get bullied for the way I am as a human. I am very well aware that I am different from others but what I don’t understand is that why does it have to be an issue at all to other people? We are all different, aren’t we? So, instead of pointing out our differences, why not just accept and celebrate them?
Sometimes I think it’s because that I’m too different that I don’t have a love life. My gender has always been an obvious barrier and I just can’t wait for the time when it should no longer be. I have had a few romantic longings and I admit that I have been hurt many times because of this. I love life and I love loving people. Don’t you think I deserve the same love I keep giving others?

Welcome to steemit Joshua! I do think you deserve the same love you keep giving others, perhaps even greater. Dont worry too much about not finding love at the moment, just continue to be your own beautiful self and eventually, love will find its way to you. By then, it would finally make sense why it never worked out with anyone before. You are more than your gender. Love knows no boundaries and that's how #lovewins.
