It's been a month since I started writing again and I've been meaning to write about of what's happening in my life right now. But I just dont know how and where to start.

Steemit got introduced me 3 months ago by @fernwehninja, @itinerantph and @julsmlz talked about steemit over dinner. And I was like.... WHAT THE F*** IS STEEMIT???

And they start explaining.
Steemit is a social media site where content creators (writers & authors) and curators (lovers of writing) earn money as they do what they love to do. blah blah blah. I WAS NOT LISTENING. AT ALL!!!! or better yet, im not interested. hahaha. Because its sound soo good to be true.

Life got in the way and I forgot about it until last December last year. With the encouragement of these people @fernwehninja, @julsmlz and @itinerantph and inspired by what I saw on Steemit and how much they earn money just by writing articles. I FINALLY SIGN UP IN STEEMIT!

Thinking about what to post and write about, I started enjoying creating and sharing stories about my adventures and life in general. And for my love in baking.

I'm sure someone's mind is already thinking ponzi scheme. Steemit is not a PONZI SCHEME. It's a social media site where people earn a lot of money for their participation.
HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?

Well that's simple, we all are used to other social media sites like facebook, instagram, twitter and other where we spend a lot of time for the fun of it. To be honest I've grown kind of tired of Instagram and it's algotrithm. I'm so focused on work right now and it's hard to spend that much energy just to gain traction.

I knew it was going to be a lot of work, but I believed this could turn up into something truly special.

So thank you Steemians for reviving my love to write. And thanks Steemit for creating a platform that encourages creativity.

Here's a little bit of me:

I love traveling soo much as a result I became more easy going person.

I always plan a short trip whenever I can just to keep motivated to keep going.

My second love is baking. My mom welcomed me into her kitchen when I was very young and allowed me first to watch and then to help her bake. She fed the hearts and bellies of her kids. Now baking, cupcakes especially, has really become my passion.

My third love is writing. My formative years were spent in an all girls Catholic school (shout out to all Thomasians!).
From elementary to highschool, weekly journal entries were a mandated graded exercise. Most of the time, topics to write on were assigned but there were numerous opportunities to write free style. Almost all of us took on these journal assignments enthusiastically. Our entries were almost always decorated with glitter, artistically burnt on the sides, or styled with bright colored construction paper.
Now, seeing how much my fellow Thomasians love to blog, tweet, write interesting FB statuses and have well curated instagrams with stellar captions, I think those weekly journals somehow subconsciously inculcated a joy for writing as a means of self expression.

Apart from school, at home my Mom always made it a point that I had a diary to write on. Curiously enough, without fail, I got a new diary when my old one was about to get filled. I never questioned then because I was just happy to have new sheets to write on. Also, those diaries all had a lock with just one key.
Much later around the time I found out about the real deal with Santa Claus and also that keys were always made in sets, I discovered Mumy was reading everything I wrote. She however kept abreast with my thoughts and feelings through my diary because she kept the other key (haha!). This allowed her to tackle issues that faced me strategically. Looking back, it was an invasion of privacy but it was a welcome cheat to understand me better as I was growing up.

This may seem like an introduction to my love for writing and might sound like a preamble to a new blog (an idea I’ll revisit when I have less on my plate). But it’s not. The purpose of this is quite different.
I don’t have kids yet, but a lot of my contemporaries already do. As technology advances and kids nowadays are intuitively adept with operating gadgets. I hope we can consciously advocate for the younger generation to appreciate the joy of writing with pen and paper, glitter and construction paper optional. Because there’s nothing just quite like it. ❤️

So hope you would like to come along on my journey as I share my experiences on Steemit.

Thanks for the love and support!

Xoxo,
Frances

Steemit rocks!

Welcome to Steemit. I had a similar experience. My course mate told me about this site but I didn't believe him because it sounded too good on be true. I finally listened when my IT professor told me how great of an opportunity it is.
