ABOUT ME

Hi there ladies and gentlemen! Jun Coloma Baligod, @grantyanis, at your service. I am a licensed Civil Engineer and have been working abroad specifically in the field of piling works. But the first job I had was horizontal projects then I shifted to this scope of work because I find it fascinating to be part of a team in charge for foundation as it is the first and basic component of any high rise buildings. Now, I am still currently in piling works and working for Bauer Foundation Philippines International as a Site Manager in our project in Mandani Bay (situated in Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines)

That Bai Hotel at the back. hehehe

But the man behind the prefix "Engr." is a coffee-lover, church-man, a traveler (but not a time traveler tho, kidding aside) and most especially a father and a husband.

My ex-girlfriend (now my wife) and our two cupids (Jeigh, my eldest is also planning to join steemit. Cheers to that!).

They are my true wealth. I am successful as a married man, a husband to the Queen of my life and a father to our two boys. And that is what I'm truly proud about. And, hmmm, maybe I'll share with you the love story I and my Queen shared when we were still the #collegesweethearts. Well, that's just to give a piece of advice and an inspiration to the millennials who rant about their failing relationships. But as for now, let me have this floor for my introductory post as I have been here in steemit for awhile and had already posted two blogs yet I haven't had the chance to introduce myself officially.

I am neither tagalog nor bisaya as I am a proud Ilocano. But for a couple of months of stay here in Cebu, I honestly fell in love with the Cebuano culture (especially their undying faith for the Child Jesus), cuisine, nature and the people. Kahibalo na ko gamay mag bisaya. And I want to know more about Cebu and the rest of the islands in our archipelago. I want to venture the wonders of our country and share it with you, my new-found-family, my steemit family!

WHY AM I HERE?

They said "Life starts at 40", well, indeed. It was last year when @nikkabomb (a young and very makulit engineer) introduced steemit to me. I really had no idea with everything in here so I started learning editing and coding stuff from her. I find it amazing because at least there's a decent avenue for me to share what I have learnt for almost 2 decades in my chosen field. I have learned from her that there is quite a lot of engineers and even soon-to-be-engineers in this platform. With my experience, I think I can be of great help. Here's a list of the things I want to do with and for this platform:

  1. Write about my engineering career with a few advice and lessons for ya'll.
  2. Not so spoiled travel destinations as my hometown (San Agustin, Isabela) has quite a lot of beauty that Mother Nature and God Himself had given.
  3. Some love-related advise from a married man. Hopefully to aid the muddled mind of many millennials nowadays.
  4. Health-related posts as I am a kind of health conscious man myself. You know, aging sucks so I had to deal with a healthy lifestyle.
  5. Poems. I love poetry as I was once a hopeless romantic guy back in college. It was because of my wife that I wrote countless of poems as my expression of affection for her. So cheesy, isn't it. Hehehe

I'm no expert in these stuff but I am so excited about this path I am taking as your fellow steemian. Or maybe @nikkabomb was just too persuasive hahaha. We'll see anyway. One thing's for sure, I am very interested of the learnings I will be exchanging with all of you. Cheers to that!

Thank you so much for reading it till the end. It means a lot to me and I hope I'll receive a warm welcome from everybody. Cheers to Steemit Community!
