Nereida is following Yeshua in a Hebrew way! Here's her story.

The Hebrew language is the "bait" that our heavenly Abba used to lure me into the Hebrew roots of our faith. How? Well, first of all I am a Pathologist and hearing how the Hebrew language works I associated it immediately with our DNA...both are the "same" in so many ways that this is a teaching I have shared with many: "Torah in our DNA." Eventually I was led to teach Torah in Spanish to people at our congregation and this led to being ordained Pastor and now I lead a small bilingual Messianic congregation in Brandon FL: Yeshua Ner Tamid, and yes, my name Nereida is part of the Ner Tamid. Nery is my nickname. Interesting how the LORD works things out because as a kid I did not like my name. My parents are from Puerto Rico and I was born in Brooklyn, NY, so I speak fluent Spanish and pray that someday I can be fluent in Hebrew too. Two years ago I left my Pathology career to go full time serving Yeshua, and just love serving Him!

For a little more background, I went to a Catholic school as a child because it was close to home and better than the public school system, but none of my parents were Catholic. In the early 70's my parents returned to Puerto Rico and there at age 15, I gave my life to Jesus (as I didn't know Him yet as Yeshua, but He is still the same Savior). I started going to an Evangelical church, where I got a very good foundation in the Word, the Holy Spirit and of course the New Testament. But once I started my career as a physician, served 8 years in the Army, and went back to church, I felt something was missing, kept thinking there has to be more! After several years searching, the LORD brought me to a Messianic congregation in Brandon, FL. And that's when my awesome journey with the Hebrew language, Yeshua and my Hebrew Roots started and will continue forever!! Thank you all for your stories and welcoming me to THE TRIBE!!!!
