Tech guy talks about himself and cats on the Internet.

Hello World,

my name is Dennis and I am a nerd. I started "programming" by the age of 10 with BASIC, it was my father who introduced me and I am really thankful for that. I also still remember the first program he showed me on a TI‑74 Basiccalc:

The program was:

10 INPUT "What is your Name?", name$
20 IF name$ = "dennis" THEN
30 PRINT "You are cool!"
40 ELSE
50 PRINT "You are dumb!"
60 END IF

I was completely fascinated when the calculator ran the program and it felt good to make and create something.

So why am I telling this story? Well I think that it is the reason for me to be here today. It's my interest in new things, my desire to learn them and to use them to create something for me and others to enjoy.

Enough of the history - fast forward to today - who am I today? Well, I am 31 years old, I am looking forward to get married in a month to my wonderful Girlfriend. I work at a small but charming tech company in Cologne, Germany as a Software Developer. I am responsible for our digital signage software, which powers a lot of signage screens all around Germany and Europe. I will probably post more about my work in future posts.

No nerd post would be complete without a picture of a cat and I didn't saw many cats around here on steemit, so it's time to start this feature! This is not some random cat from the internet, this is my buddy Max, the big love of my future wife and me:
