Hello Steemit Community

Firstly, hello steemit community :) It's so great to see people engaging with each other so easily. The best part for me is the fact that there is no pesky adverts all over the place. I really like the website and foresee big things for the crypto coin which I am excited to hold for the long term

I got a bit ahead of myself when I joined steemit and jumped right into posting some content. What I came to realise is that this is a community and introductions are necessary so here goes...

I am a South African (no, there are no lions running down my street at night), I grew up in the coastal city of Durban, I now live in the metropolitan of Johannesburg. Quite a big change of lifestyle but I'm loving it.

I am big on binge watching series and enjoying some mary jane every now and then. I used to be constantly playing video games but now it's mostly limited to FIFA (becoming an adult and all that).

My career revolves around software engineering, started of being a pure developer but now my time is split being conduction research and development. I enjoy the challenge of solving problems and my current research focuses lie in machine learning.

I recently entered the crypto-universe and was so amazed by it. I decided that it was too good of an opportunity to sit back and watch so I jumped in. 2 months in and it's an amazing experience, so many people willing to help out the new guy ( so many trolls as well,sigh!). Overall it's been great and I can't wait to see what unfolds in the next year or so.

I am really excited to be a part of this community and to help it grow. I have a very abstract way of thinking and sometimes my posts might be strange... or maybe it will be eye opening!
