Howdy Steemit community!!!

My name is Michael Leger! I'm really excited to share with you my family's journey! "Journey to where?", you might ask? Away, away from the rat race, from selling my time to an office chair and instead sharing it with the people who matter, from the noise of the suburbs, from debt...you get the picture.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I'm not all the way "away" just yet, but the Leger family is closer than we were just a few years ago. We are light years closer than your average busy weekend warrior family. I keep bees, try to grow my own food, attempting to grow a successful fruit orchard, work for myself, my wife home schools our children, and we are trying to simplify any way we know how. Sometimes simplifying doesn't mean easier, it just means less of a reliance on electricity etc...

There are a lot of folks that desperately want to unplug but don't know just where to start. My prayer is that you may gain some forward momentum in your journey by using our experiences and trials as a springboard for you very own journey from the the craziness that society now calls "normal".

2017 has already been a year of huge changes for my family! I started out the year with a deadly aggressive Lung Infection, lost my job, and then Hurricane Harvey ravaged my property back to square one. Ill take you through the weeks and months after the storm as we rough it smoothly and rebuild our little starter homestead from the ground up. We currently live in a 16'x24' Davis canvas tent while our home is under construction from Hurricane Harvey damage. Yah (what we call Elohim, creator, Yahovah, God) willing, we will be selling our home and moving to a place more conducive to homesteading off grid and getting back to simpler living.

One thing all the hardships and surprises has taught us is that Yah has some strange and unusual ways of getting us to the place we need to be! Its scary at times but we are so filled with joy and expectation of His provisions.

I sure hope to see a lot of the Steemit community join us as we continue in this journey from fear and debt to faith and freedom!

IMG_5422.JPG My wonderful family and support Melissa Eli and Eton! Without them and their willingness to come along with me, i would still be trapped in the hamster wheel of debt and slavery!

Double E Blessed Homestead and Bee farm was introduced to the Steemit community by @mericanhomestead and have learned so much from visiting his homestead up in the Arkansas Ozarks!

You should explain to your audience how to pronounce your name. Or better yet, a contest. Is it:

A) Leg-ger
B) Lay-jay
C) Le-jer
D) Leg-gar
E) None of the above

Or encourage typing in another variation you haven't listed...

Welcome on board ! You show us how to do that, going back forward. Good luck wit all your plans, bees... If you like reading: A Sting in the Tale by Dave Goulson (about bumble bees).
