Hello Steemit, my name is Vihan.

I'm not good at introductions, but I'll do my best at describing who I am and what drew me to Steemit.

My name is Vihan Agarwal. I'm studying Computer Science at a small liberal arts college in Minnesota, USA. I always thought that Computer Science was my calling, and for the last three years (from my senior year of high school to my junior year in college right now) I dedicated all my time and energy into being a better coder. Everything was fine and dandy, until the last semester when I began to realize that there are enough coders; I realized I had a lot more to give as a writer.

This scared the shit out of me because I know nothing about writing. I had even stopped reading. Yet, there was this burning desire in me to create worlds and sometimes "get real" on paper, with the hopes of making at least few peoples days a tad bit more enriched. I figured that time and practice would solve all of this and so I began writing.

But then I started reading about how hard it is to be a writer and get your work read. It requires hours of practice, and most of all a community that is focussed and driven. With all my connections being very tech oriented I felt lost. That's when I stumbled upon Steemit, thanks to a great video by @brandonfrye. Now I feel much more confident about the path I am choosing to traverse. Not only because of the monetary worth of the platform; but also, and more importantly, because the platform seems more oriented towards rewarding effort and good work than any other platform I have come across.

That's the current me in a nutshell, more on me will be revealed through my actual writing, not through poor attempts like this. Posts you can expect from me are - short stories, short screenplays, non-fiction blog posts and perhaps a couple of poems. I also hope to find tons of awesome content here, so please recommend/share other users that you think are doing a great job.
