My Insane Evolution pt. 1
Hello Steemies,
I've been brainstorming ideas on what to post on here, and I figured one the coolest things I could do is to listen to you guys.
I know a little about everything, so I could start writing about animals, the new snapchat update, global warming, my favourite Pokemon, how to get into Dungeons and Dragons, how to influence people, what Post Malone is doing in his spare time, iOS development as far as Swift goes... The list goes on.
I would be fine if I only managed to grab a few of you, fellow Steemsters, and provide content for you, tailored for you.
I've been listening to Gary Vaynerchuk's new audiobook, Crushing It. And it has inspired me to start creating content for you guys. I love creating informational posts, with my thoughts being the added flair.
While we're at the topic of listening, I've been listening to trap music for the past 3-4 years, mixing in Lo-Fi trap the past months. Trap music in general has hit the mainstream market like a meteor as far as the past few years go. It's quite interesting, observing these trends in music and/or popular culture.
Connecting to my previous point, It would be a fun idea to inspect my taste in music. Let me take you on a musical adventure!
Let's start with my childhood! I was a sweet, happy child! Allegedly never cried! Me, 6 yo.
I'm from Slovenia, a Balkan country. Spent my childhood years (4-8) listening to slovenian pop (Bepop), and hip hop (Game Over). Even have some old tapes somewhere, of me & my cousin dancing to their beats as 6 year olds, cute. Find me a more 2000-ey pop group haha!
Everyone was wearing black clothing, spiky bracelets. The whole emo aspect to clothing and lifestyle seemed to grow beyond just music. This was in the 2010s, mind you. If I sprinkle in some other bands, those that come to mind are Blink 182, Sum 41 and Linkin Park.
Oh, Linkin Park, how I love you. I can confidently say it was their tracks, meshing alternative rock and hip hop, that really reinvigorated my passion for hip hop, and rap in general. Mike Shinoda was and still is a legend. Can say with absolute certainty that the JayZ & Linkin Park collab album Collision Course was my entry into hip hop.
Would also like to express my sorrow for Chester, who died last year... Amazing voice.
The following few years, I listened to a lot of Eminem and progressed into melodic and lyrical hip hop. I used to hate the slurring rappers, or mumblers as they are called now. Lil' Wayne being one of the most notorious mumblers at the time. Quite funny, as it's 90% of what I listen to nowadays.
Then League of Legends happened. Spent probably 60% of my mid-teens playing said game.
So I had a brief period of listening to Dubstep, mainly Skrillex. Then transitioned into chill-step, and melodic dubstep.
Also used to insert some classical / epic music into the mix. epic music vol 3 intensifies!
Then second year of high-school came around, and I figured it was about time to actually start living life. I went cold fish on League of Legends, and my life changed. I was 16 at the time.
Me, 16 - (person on the right) with the president of Slovenia - Danilo Türk and friend.
I figure this is enough reading for now! More to come soon!
