One Issue Voter?

So, I found Steemit!!

One Issue Voter, I like it!!  I am a one issue voter.  That one issue?  The Constitution, more on that later.

I grew up in Michigan, union family easily Democrat, didn't really know WHY, I just was.  Voted for Bill Clinton twice, even did a tiny bit of campaigning for him.  Even got a Christmas card, LOL.

9/11 happened.  The nation shaken.  Democrats said, Mr. President, here is a blank check, you do whatever you have to do to keep us safe!!  He does what he thinks is right and in 2002 election rolls around all of those Democrats who, in the heat of the moment gave the President carte blanche, decided that they didn't mean THAT??!!!! How dare he do THAT, whatever that, that they were talking about.

Started thinking about why are you a Democrat?  You're not pro choice or pro life, you simply don't care.  You work hard for your money and some in DC, mostly Democrats, want you to pay for others choices in life.  

Anyhow, I switch my party and now, you're a Republican!! YAY!!!  Prosperity, fiscal responsibility, responsibility for ones choices, work on getting rid of the debt, erase the deficit, keep us safe, follow the Constitution, etc, etc, etc.

Voted for Bush after that, then I liked Herman Cain, really liked him.  He was accused of sexual stuff that may or may now have happened but, he refused to even acknowledge that there were even rumors, he literally ignored it until it blew up so big that his chance was over, the Cain Train was derailing and I jumped before it crashed.   Was lost then, didn't know who to support.  

A Facebook friend said you should check out Ron Paul, I'd heard of him.  He was that crazy guy.....The one who wanted marijuana to be legal, yeah, that's what went through my head, just like many others when it comes to Dr. Paul.  He suggested several videos and I found this one:

There is more though!!  Liberty, the Constitution, only voting yes, if it doesn't go against the Constitution, audit the fed, end these senseless wars, etc, etc, E.T.C!!!  Yes!!!

I really got into Liberty and freedom.  I was the guy who said things like....."As long as you do nothing wrong, you have nothing to worry about".  I literally said, "As long as you don't take a Koran and a bomb making book from the library this Patriot Act shouldn't bother you".  Yeah, I trusted that the government had my safety in mind, stupid me.  HAHAHA like they care about ME.   

Liberty, doing whatever the hell you want to do as long as it doesn't effect another's Liberty, Freedom or rights, right?  I mean this is America!!  The Land of the Free!!  People fought for my right to kneel for the flag, right??!!!  Have they though?  In the last 70 years?  It could be argued and some will argue with me that WWII was justified and needed to keep us free.  It's been 70 years, ok, so it was justified and needed to keep us free.   Korea, Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, Kuwait liberation, Iraq and Afghanistan wars on terror, none of those wars have/had anything to do with me having the rights that I still have.  We're spending literally TRILLIONS of dollars trying to beat democracy into nations that really don't give a damn about democracy.  Trillions of dollars THOUSANDS of lives and up to 22 veterans a DAY killing themselves!!!

Then I think, am I free?  I can't play PokerStars in my living room for money, because the government didn't like that PokerStars had figured out a way to allow me a little bit of freedom against archaic laws that restrict what I do with my own time and money.  If I want to fly somewhere because the drive is just too long to make for a 5 day vacation, I stand the chance of getting felt up by some man I don't even know......It's ok though that he touches my dick, because it's the back of his hand, it's ok in this "free country" that assumes you're guilty of being a terrorist and searches you.  They must assume that I'm guilty because I'm guaranteed that I can travel freely in this nation, right?  Taxing us to pay for a war on terror that kills hundreds and thousands of innocent civilians in several nations around the world.  We are still no safer today than we were a full 16 years ago when we were attacked on 9/11.  How many other "freedoms" should I have that I don't because the government, those who you elect that make ONE promise on Inauguration Day.  That promise is to uphold and defend the Constitution.

So, that's it, I'm a one issue voter.  I will not, vote for you if you blatantly break your Inaugural Oath.  Vote yes on the NDAA with it's indefinite detention clause(look it up, it's not hard to find) then you really shouldn't expect my vote.  Don't expect it, you won't get it.  ONE ISSUE!!! All politicians should be one issue voters, just like me, it's what they promise us that they'll be.  When their hand is on the bible, they don't promise to end gay marriage, they don't promise to end abortion, they don't promise to take us to war or get us out of war.   When they have their hands on the Bible, swearing that oath, it is only to defend the Constitution of the United States.  So, there you have it.
